“Before coming to Acadiana Pain & Performance, the only treatment I had ever heard of for TMJ was wearing splints and braces. I had worn a splint at night for about 12 years. It was okay at first, but the TMJ started to get worse.
Some friends of mine had come to Acadiana Pain & Performance and told me that TMJ was listed as one of the things they could treat. They suggested that I make an appointment because they had success there.
I started treatment in September and I can now actually chew meat without pain in my jaw. I have come for several treatments and it is like a minor miracle. Chris and Derrick both told me they could fix this and they are actually doing it!
I’ve had TMJ for at least 15 years and in a matter of a few weeks, I am 90% better. I still have fine tuning to do, but the major part has been done.
Derrick and Chris are great people and they are very patient. They answer all your questions no matter how ridiculous it sounds. Their support staff is excellent! If you have an appointment issue, they fix it. The techs in the gym actually watch what you’re doing to make sure you’re getting the maximum results.
I would recommend Acadiana Pain & Performance before taking medicine. The dry needling works great for the pain and the adjustments help tremendously!”

"I had hurt my shoulder moving a bucket full of water to water my outdoor plants. "I chose Acadiana Pain & Performance because of their location and reputation of one of the Physical Therapists that is on staff there. I had shoulder surgery to remove a piece of bone that for some reason or another was too long and started to cause me great pain. "I chose Acadiana Pain & Performance because they were doing a new technique (new to the Lafayette area) called "dry needling." I was able to schedule an appointment very quickly for my knee pain. As a very active professional manager, recently retired, I was interested in a holistic approach to return to walking, light weight lifting and yoga ASAP (also, a newly certified yoga instructor!). My diagnosis was arthritis and tendonitis and after only 2 treatments, the swelling and pain began to subside. They were genuinely interested in my well being and recovery. My PT, Jay Ashley, the PT techs and all office personnel were very professional and personable. I left with a list of planned "home exercise plan" to support and strengthen my knees.
